Welcome to Cicero/AMO
Full-service agency specialising in public affairs, corporate communications and market research
Cicero/AMO has been the retained public affairs agency of the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) since 2016, where we have run the organisation’s parliamentary engagement programme, provided strategic counsel to PFEW’s Chairman and Parliamentary Work Group, and advised on the ‘Protect the Protectors’ campaign which sought to increase sentencing for assaults on emergency service workers.
Cicero/AMO was enlisted to secure the second reading for the High-Speed Rail Bill in Parliament. Our support helped secure parliamentary backing, ensuring that the Hybrid Bill for the first phase of the scheme successfully completed its passage through Parliament. Cicero/AMO’s ongoing strategic counsel provides valuable support to the team to navigate through the political, media and social media landscape, including the development of a bespoke ongoing social media strategy.
Launched as a response to the rapid shift towards a cashless society to quantify the scale of financial exclusion and to maximise exposure of the review. Cicero/AMO undertook research of 2,000 consumers across the UK, used to develop two insight reports distributed across industry and picked up across media. We created all brand guidelines, campaign logo and content platforms, managing end-to-end production and publication of the launch report, which helped protect the future of cash in plans set out by HM Treasury in May 2019.
Cicero/AMO conducted surveys in 20 countries with up to 32,000 end investors and 1,000 investment intermediaries to provide a holistic market perspective on the issues shaping investment decision making, working closely with key media outlets to create exclusive content for media launch activities. We produced over 50 marketing reports used by country marketing teams, including thematic reports exploring the views of specific investors, e.g. the LGBT community.
Cicero conducts an annual survey on 16,000 respondents in 15 countries providing a global research platform containing workers and retirees. To date, we have surveyed over 100,000 workers globally. Combined with in-depth desk research, we have produced a series of white paper reports containing global findings, created a global ‘Retirement Readiness Index’ covering all 15 survey markets and produced individual country reports to promote local findings to drive media engagement. The campaign has generated over 2,000 pieces of press coverage across key markets including the Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, US and Japan, and has supported Aegon’s policy engagement through inputting into global OECD policy debates.
Cicero/AMO was appointed to develop a bold and fresh visual identity, redesign all publications and manage PIMFA’s online communications. We designed a unique logo, brand guidelines and templates for all major marketing channels, including print, web, social media and email. The new brand was launched to acclaim and won the SABRE Award for ‘Best in identity branding’ at a ceremony in Amsterdam.
Cicero/AMO works on a retained basis with Growth Street to raise media profile, secure an increase in borrower applications from small to medium-sized businesses and boost the number of retail investors in the firm. In January 2019, we conducted a survey of 2,000 small businesspeople from across the UK, assimilating the data into newsworthy content for an extensive regional and trade media campaign. The campaign achieved over 44 pieces of coverage published in relation to the survey, a four-fold increase in media profile, and helped the client achieve pass 2,500 investors and achieve £30m of loans under management.
Cicero/AMO has provided the London Metal Exchange with a daily monitoring report since 2017, developing a custom template and delivery mechanism through our Cicero Pulse political monitoring service. The briefing covers issues ranging from global financial market regulation, the mining industry to conflict minerals and competitor exchanges, ensuring that all pertinent issues are covered and the client is kept ahead of sudden developments in a very challenging operating environment.
Cicero/AMO supports Bank of Ireland UK, a ‘partnership bank’ that provides retail banking services to organisations including Post Office Limited and AA Financial Services, two of the UK’s most reputable brands. Our work assists the bank’s external communications team and to help manage relationships and issues.
Cicero/AMO has supported Barclays as its retained UK public affairs agency since 2012. Under intense scrutiny from politicians and policymakers, key challenges have included helping Barclays demonstrate that it has changed its corporate identity and culture, while continuing to engage in an active public policy debate. Cicero/AMO provides ongoing strategic counsel on messaging and positioning, ensuring Barclays is prepared for upcoming political and legislative challenges.
